Cisco Pricing 2026: Ultimate Guide for Security Products

Cisco publishes list prices for one security product family in October 2026: Cisco Duo, free for up to 10 users and $3, $6, or $9 per user per month for the paid editions. Cisco Secure Firewall appliances, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco Secure Access, Cisco Secure Endpoint, and Cisco XDR are sold by quote, through Cisco and its partners.

This guide shows what each Cisco security product costs where a price is published, which products are changing name or reaching end of sale, what drives a Cisco quote, how Cisco compares on price with Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Okta, and other vendors, and how to negotiate the renewal.

Disclaimer: the figures below come from Cisco’s own pages, duo.com, umbrella.cisco.com, and official marketplace listings, read in October 2026. Cisco prices most of its security products by quote, so treat every figure here as a starting point for that conversation.

Cisco tools generate a lot of telemetry: Secure Endpoint, Secure Firewall, Duo, and Meraki each raise their own alerts. For every one of them, someone on your team has to answer four questions:

  • Is this alert real?
  • Is it part of a broader attack?
  • How far did it spread?
  • Who investigates it at 2 a.m.?

UnderDefense Agentic AI SOC answers them on top of the Cisco tools you already run: AI agents investigate each alert across your Cisco telemetry, and analysts on shift 24/7 make the response decisions. If your telemetry has to stay in your own cloud, region, or isolated environment, UnderDefense deploys as SaaS, hybrid, on-premises, or air-gapped.

Cisco Security Products Overview

Cisco provides a broad range of security products, from firewall protection to threat detection and response, and most of them now run on the Cisco Security Cloud. Below are Cisco’s key security products, with what each one costs and what it includes.

Cisco Secure Firewall Pricing and Features

Cisco Secure Firewall combines traditional firewall protection with intrusion prevention, malware defense, and URL filtering against external threats. Cisco publishes no list price for its firewall appliances. The current range runs from the Secure Firewall 200 Series and 1200 Series to the 3100, 4200, and 6100 Series, plus the Firepower 1000 Series, and Cisco positions the 1200 Series for distributed branches and the 6100 Series for AI-ready data centers.

Appliance pricing depends on the model, the throughput you need, the security subscriptions you add, and the support contract. Cisco also sells Firewall for Public Cloud as a SaaS product and firewall as a service inside Cisco Secure Access, both by quote.

Cisco Firewall Price for Virtual Deployments

The one Cisco firewall with a public price is Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense Virtual on AWS Marketplace. Cisco’s pay-as-you-go listing charges by the hour for the EC2 instance the firewall runs on, as read in October 2026.

EC2 instanceCisco software cost per hour
c5.xlarge (recommended)$1.00
c5n.2xlarge$1.80
c6in.4xlarge$3.50

AWS infrastructure costs come on top of these rates. The listing offers a 30-day free trial and a 365-day contract that it says saves up to 49% against hourly use. At $1.00 per hour, one instance running all year costs $8,760 in Cisco software before AWS charges.

Key Features of Cisco Secure Firewall:

Cisco Secure Firewall covers the network edge and the traffic that crosses it. Its main features are:

  • Advanced threat protection against malware, ransomware, and other malicious threats.
  • An intrusion prevention system (IPS) that blocks unauthorized access to your network.
  • VPN support for secure remote access to the network.
  • Content and URL filtering that blocks harmful web content.
  • Application visibility and control over application traffic.
  • Cloud management in Cisco Cloud Control, alongside the on-premises Firewall Management Center.

Every one of these needs policies tuned to your network before it blocks the right traffic.

Pros of Cisco Secure Firewall:

The strengths of Cisco Secure Firewall come from its range and its place in the Cisco portfolio:

  • Multiple layers of protection against a wide range of cyber threats.
  • Models that scale from branch offices to data centers.
  • Real-time monitoring tools that detect and block threats.
  • VPN and remote access for remote workers.
  • Integration with other Cisco security products, such as Cisco Duo, Cisco Secure Access, and Cisco XDR.

The cons below come mostly from cost and complexity.

Cons of Cisco Secure Firewall:

Running Cisco Secure Firewall well takes budget and specialist skills:

  • Appliance prices are by quote only, so budgeting starts with a partner conversation.
  • Setup and configuration may require technical expertise.
  • Ongoing subscription and management costs add to the total cost.
  • New users face a learning curve with the features and configurations.

Weigh these against the operational savings of cloud management, covered in the hidden costs section below.

Cisco Umbrella Pricing and Features

Cisco Umbrella is a cloud-delivered security solution that protects users’ internet activity against malware, phishing, and other threats, wherever they work. Cisco publishes no Umbrella prices: its packages, DNS Security Essentials, DNS Security Advantage, SIG Essentials, and SIG Advantage, are sold by quote. Pricing varies with the number of users, the package, and the contract term.

Cisco Umbrella End of Sale and the Move to Cisco Secure Access

Cisco announced the end of sale and end of life of Umbrella SIG and DNS on September 1, 2026, as Umbrella evolves into Cisco Secure Access, Cisco’s security service edge (SSE) solution. Three dates in Cisco’s bulletin decide your next renewal:

  • The last day to order Umbrella SIG and DNS is January 31, 2027.
  • The last day to renew or add to an existing subscription is January 31, 2028.
  • The last date of support is January 31, 2029.

Secure Access comes in three tiers: Secure Access DNS Defense, Secure Access Essentials (split into Secure Internet Access and Secure Private Access), and Secure Access Advantage. Its ordering guide prices it per covered user, in bands from 1 to 99 users up to 25,000 or more, with 12-, 36-, and 60-month terms. The Secure Internet Access and Secure Private Access packages have a 50-user minimum.

Key Features of Cisco Umbrella:

Umbrella’s features center on DNS and web traffic. Its main features are:

  • DNS-layer security that filters malicious destinations before a connection is made.
  • A secure web gateway that blocks harmful websites and controls web traffic.
  • Threat intelligence from Cisco Talos that identifies and blocks cyber threats.
  • Content filtering based on customizable policies.
  • Malware protection that blocks malicious files before they reach your network.
  • Cloud management through a web dashboard.
  • Visibility into network traffic and activity for security analysis.

Secure Access DNS Defense, according to Cisco, provides all of Umbrella’s DNS features.

Pros of Cisco Umbrella:

Umbrella’s advantages come from its cloud delivery:

  • No hardware required, so deployment is quick.
  • Web protection that blocks malicious websites, phishing attempts, and harmful content.
  • Coverage for offices, remote users, and roaming devices.
  • Protection that follows users across devices, including remote and mobile users.
  • Real-time threat intelligence from Cisco’s global network.
  • Support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) through January 31, 2029.

The biggest con below is the product’s own end of sale.

Cons of Cisco Umbrella:

Four limitations matter most in 2026:

  • Umbrella is reaching end of sale, so any purchase now needs a migration plan to Secure Access.
  • The secure web gateway and cloud-delivered firewall sit in the SIG packages, above the DNS Security packages.
  • Customizing policies takes expertise and time to get the most effective setup.
  • It focuses on web traffic, so it needs other controls to protect every environment.

If your Umbrella renewal falls before January 31, 2028, price Secure Access in the same quote.

Cisco Duo Pricing and Features

Cisco Duo is an identity and access management solution that strengthens user authentication with multi-factor authentication (MFA), so only authorized users reach critical resources. Duo publishes its prices per user per month, as read on duo.com in October 2026.

EditionPrice per user per monthAdds
Duo Free$0, up to 10 usersMFA, free authenticator app
Duo Essentials$3Duo Directory, phishing-resistant MFA, single sign-on
Duo Advantage$6Cisco Identity Intelligence, ITDR, risk-based authentication
Duo Premier$9VPN-less remote access, complete device trust

Duo offers a 30-day free trial and self-service subscriptions. Below 100 users, Duo licenses are sold in increments of 10, and above 100 users, in increments of 25.

Key Features of Cisco Duo:

Duo’s features cover the login and the device behind it. Its main features are:

  • MFA with push notifications, phone calls, or one-time passcodes.
  • Single sign-on (SSO) to all applications with one set of credentials, from Duo Essentials up.
  • Risk-based authentication that uses context such as location and device to assess login risk.
  • Device health checks before a device reaches sensitive resources.
  • Access policies based on user location, device, and more.
  • Bypass codes for users who lose access to their MFA device.

The identity threat detection features sit in Duo Advantage and Duo Premier.

Pros of Cisco Duo:

Duo’s strengths are speed of rollout and published pricing:

  • Quick setup with a user-friendly interface.
  • Strong protection against unauthorized access through MFA.
  • Several ways to verify identity, including push notifications, phone calls, and passcodes.
  • MFA coverage for a wide range of apps, with unlimited applications from Duo Essentials up.
  • Cloud delivery, with no on-premises hardware required.
  • Detailed reporting on user activity and access attempts.

The cons below are mostly about scale.

Cons of Cisco Duo:

Five limitations come up as deployments grow:

  • Per-user costs add up quickly across a large workforce.
  • The free edition covers basic MFA and stops at 10 users.
  • Push notifications need a smartphone or another mobile device.
  • Large organizations may need more customization and support.
  • Identity threat detection and complete device trust need Duo Advantage or Duo Premier.

Choose the edition from the features you need, because the price difference between tiers multiplies by every user.

Cisco Security Cloud and Security Suites Pricing and Features

Cisco Security Cloud is Cisco’s platform for running its security products together with a unified view of your security posture, and Cisco sells it as Cisco Security Suites. There are three suites, User Protection, Cloud Protection, and Breach Protection, plus a combined User & Breach Protection Suite, each available in tiers. Cisco publishes no suite prices. Here is what you can expect for the products inside them:

  • Cisco Secure Endpoint, formerly AMP for Endpoints, comes in Essentials, Advantage, and Premier tiers, priced by quote.
  • Cisco Secure Network Analytics is priced by quote.
  • Cisco Secure Firewall is priced as described in the firewall section above.
  • Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense is priced per user, with 1-, 3-, and 5-year terms and multiyear savings.
  • Cisco XDR comes in Essentials, Advantage, and Premier tiers, priced by quote.
  • Cisco SecureX reached end of life on July 31, 2024, and Cisco XDR is a separate subscription that SecureX customers do not inherit.

Cisco XDR Premier and the Breach Protection Premier tier add XDR as a managed service from Cisco security experts. That matters when you compare a suite quote with running the same tools with your own team.

Cisco Secure Endpoint Tiers

Cisco’s licensing page shows what each Secure Endpoint tier adds, as read in October 2026. The base tier already includes protection, monitoring, sandboxing, isolation, and device control.

Threat Hunting by TalosNot includedNot includedIncluded

If you want Cisco’s own threat hunters watching your endpoints, price Premier from the start.

Key Features of Cisco Security Cloud:

The suites combine Cisco’s products across the main attack surfaces. The main features are:

  • Endpoint protection with real-time monitoring, threat detection, and automatic malware remediation.
  • Network security with firewall protection, intrusion prevention, VPN, and network traffic analysis.
  • Email security against phishing, spam, malware, and impersonation attacks.
  • Web security against malware, ransomware, and data exfiltration.
  • Centralized management and threat visibility through Cisco XDR and Cisco Cloud Control.
  • Threat intelligence from Cisco Talos against new and emerging attacks.
  • Automated workflows for threat detection, investigation, and response.

Each feature comes from a separate product inside the suite, so check which tier of each product your suite tier includes.

Pros of Cisco Security Cloud:

The case for the suites rests on consolidation:

  • Endpoint, network, email, and web security from one vendor.
  • Cisco Talos threat intelligence behind every product.
  • Tiers that let you start small and add capabilities later.
  • Centralized cloud management with Cisco XDR and Cisco Cloud Control.
  • Automated workflows that reduce manual processes.
  • Reporting tools to monitor threats and track compliance.

The cons below are the price of that breadth.

Cons of Cisco Security Cloud:

Four limitations deserve a line in your evaluation:

  • Every suite and product is priced by quote, so comparing options takes several partner conversations.
  • Setup may require advanced knowledge and take time.
  • The range of features takes training and expertise to use well.
  • Some capabilities sit only in higher tiers, such as Talos threat hunting in Secure Endpoint Premier.

Cisco offers free trials for selected products, covered in the FAQ below, which helps you test before you commit.

What Drives the Cost of Cisco Security?

A Cisco quote rests on a few choices you can make before the first pricing call. These are the levers that move it most:

  • The number of covered users or devices, priced in user bands for Secure Access.
  • The tier you buy, from Essentials to Premier, across Secure Endpoint, Cisco XDR, Secure Access, and the suites.
  • The term length, such as 12, 36, or 60 months for Secure Access.
  • How you deploy, on appliances, on virtual firewalls billed by the hour, or as cloud-delivered products.
  • The support level, because Secure Access Software Support Premium needs at least $30,000 in net annual spend.
  • Whether you buy separate products or a Security Suite.

Your SIEM now sits in the same budget, because Cisco completed its acquisition of Splunk in March 2024. Cisco says Firewall Threat Defense customers who subscribe to Splunk can ingest extra firewall log data at no additional licensing cost, with terms applying, and Splunk counts eligible Cisco telemetry at a 0.5x weighted ingest rate, as UnderDefense’s Splunk pricing guide explains.

Hidden Costs of Cisco Security Products

The license or subscription is only part of a Cisco security budget. These costs appear on Cisco’s own pages or follow directly from the products you choose:

  • AWS infrastructure charges on top of the hourly Secure Firewall Threat Defense Virtual rate.
  • Renewal of an on-premises Firewall Management Center appliance, which Cisco offers to replace with Cisco Cloud Control.
  • Migration work from Umbrella to Secure Access before the January 31, 2028 renewal cutoff.
  • A new Cisco XDR subscription for teams that relied on the retired SecureX.
  • Secure Access Software Support Premium, with its $30,000 net annual minimum.
  • Duo licenses bought in blocks of 10 or 25 users.
  • The team time to patch firewalls and tune detections.

The last item is the one most budgets leave out. Verizon’s 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report found that exploitation of vulnerabilities was the most common initial access vector, at 31%, so every firewall and VPN gateway you run brings patch work with it, alongside the alerts the tools raise.

What Do Companies Typically Pay for Cisco Security?

Cisco publishes no figures on what customers pay for Secure Firewall, Secure Access, Secure Endpoint, or the Security Suites, and no primary source published one as of October 2026. Your quote rests on the factors above: user or device count, tier, term, support level, and whether you buy a suite.

For Duo, procurement platform Vendr reports on its Duo Security pricing page, read in October 2026, that the median buyer pays $30,070 per year, based on 119 purchases, with buyers saving 12% on average. At Duo’s list prices, 500 users on Duo Advantage cost $36,000 a year ($6 × 500 × 12), and 1,000 users on Duo Premier cost $108,000 a year.

Cisco vs Competitors: Security Pricing Compared

Cisco competes with a different vendor in each product category, and some of those vendors publish more prices than Cisco does. Every price below comes from the vendor’s own site or its own marketplace listing, read in October 2026; everything else is marked quote only.

Cisco Secure Firewall vs Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet

Virtual and cloud firewalls are where all three vendors publish a rate, so they are the fairest place to compare. For appliances, compare partner quotes.

FirewallPublished priceBilling
Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense Virtual$1.00 per hour, c5.xlargeAWS Marketplace, per instance hour
Fortinet FortiGate VM$1.02 per hour, c6in.xlargeAWS Marketplace, per instance hour
Palo Alto Networks Cloud NGFW for AWS$1.50 per hour plus $0.065 per GBPer firewall resource and traffic

The rates measure different things. Cisco and Fortinet charge for firewall software on an EC2 instance that you size and pay AWS for. Palo Alto Networks’ Cloud NGFW is a managed cloud firewall billed per resource hour plus traffic, with the first 15 TB at $0.065 per GB, according to its pricing documentation.

Cisco Duo vs Okta

Identity is the one category where both vendors publish per-user prices, so the comparison is direct.

ProductPublished prices per user per monthTerms
Cisco Duo$0 (10 users), $3, $6, $9Increments of 10 or 25 users
Okta Workforce Identity$6 Starter, $14 Core Essentials, $17 EssentialsBilled annually, $1,500 annual minimum

Okta quotes its Professional and Enterprise suites, and Duo publishes all four editions. At list, Duo Advantage and Okta Starter both cost $6 per user per month, though the two bundle different features, so compare them against the capabilities you need.

Cisco Umbrella and Secure Access vs Cloudflare and Zscaler

Security service edge pricing is mostly by quote, with one exception among the three vendors.

ProductPublished price
Cisco Umbrella and Cisco Secure AccessQuote only
Cloudflare Zero Trust$0 up to 50 users; $7 per user per month pay-as-you-go
Zscaler Internet AccessQuote only

Cloudflare aims its pay-as-you-go plan at teams solving narrow SSE use cases without enterprise support, and prices its contract plan per user by quote. The Zscaler listing on AWS Marketplace checked for this guide is a private offer sold by a reseller, so an enterprise comparison across all three still ends in quotes.

Cisco Secure Endpoint vs CrowdStrike Falcon

CrowdStrike publishes prices for its Falcon endpoint bundles, and Cisco quotes every Secure Endpoint tier.

ProductPublished price
Cisco Secure Endpoint Essentials, Advantage, or PremierQuote only
CrowdStrike Falcon Go$59.99 per device per year, up to 100 devices
CrowdStrike Falcon Pro$99.99 per device per year
CrowdStrike Falcon Enterprise$184.99 per device per year

Use the CrowdStrike figures as a reference point when you read a Secure Endpoint quote, and compare the tier contents line by line, since each vendor splits its features differently.

How to Negotiate Cisco Pricing: A 7-Point Framework

Cisco’s own ordering rules and end-of-life dates give a prepared buyer room to negotiate. Work through these seven points before the renewal call:

  1. List every Cisco security product you own with its renewal and end-of-life dates, so you do not renew Umbrella on autopilot.
  2. Count covered users and devices before you ask for a quote, because Secure Access quantities can be lowered at renewal but never mid-term.
  3. Choose the term on purpose, since Secure Access runs 12, 36, or 60 months and auto-renews for 12 months unless you cancel.
  4. Ask for a Security Suite quote and a separate-products quote side by side.
  5. Bring published competitor prices, such as Okta’s per-user rates or FortiGate VM’s hourly rate, to the call.
  6. Compare hourly AWS Marketplace billing with the 365-day contract that Cisco’s listing says saves up to 49%.
  7. Get the support tier and any Splunk ingest terms for your Cisco firewall logs in writing.

Points 2 and 3 matter most, because the quantity and term you commit to now are the ones you live with until the next renewal.

How Can UnderDefense Strengthen Your Cisco Security Stack?

If your team runs Secure Endpoint, Secure Firewall, Duo, and Meraki, each tool raises its own alerts, and a bigger Cisco renewal buys more telemetry without anyone to read it at 2 a.m. UnderDefense works on top of your Cisco stack without replacing it: AI agents investigate every alert across your Cisco tools, and analysts on shift 24/7 make the response decisions.

Where native Cisco tools leave offWhat UnderDefense addsResult for your team
Alerts split across Endpoint, Firewall, and DuoAI agents investigate each alert across toolsOne investigation per incident
Every alert waits in a queueAbout 2 minutes from alert to triageReal threats reach analysts first
No analyst on shift at night24/7 analysts who make response decisionsA 2 a.m. alert gets a decision

Cisco alongside non-Cisco toolsInvestigation across 250+ integrationsNo migration and no second console
Telemetry that must stay in-regionSaaS, hybrid, on-premises, or air-gapped deploymentData stays where your policy requires

When a critical alert fires overnight, an UnderDefense analyst responds within the 20-minute SLA response time for critical alerts, and your team gets the investigation along with the escalation. One G2 reviewer describes the change from a previous provider:

“We shifted from a provider whose escalations were just a brief paragraph and a phone number”

Valeriia K., Chief Business Development Officer, company of 51 to 1,000 employees, G2, August 12, 2026

UnderDefense is rated 4.9 out of 5 from 57 reviews on G2, as of October 2026. Reviewers also report that detection tuning takes from a few weeks to a few months, so plan for that before the first quiet night.
